What is Reverse Osmosis?
Reverse: 1. Turned backward in position, direction or order. 2. Causing backward movement.Osmosis: 1. The tendency of fluids separated by a semipermeable membrane to pass through it and be come mixed and equal in strength.
Reverse Osmosis is a natural process of separating water from the impurities in it.
Membranes were first developed commercially to obtain fresh water from the sea. Called semipermeable, the membranes were used to filtrate to the salt from the water. The Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane creates premium drinking water from ordinary tap water. It acts like a sorting system that dissolves salts, heavy metals, and other contaminates, leaving only the H2O. The result is clean, refreshing drinking water.
