! All that was mortal of Ot Blair was brought home yesterday by Undertaker Gable and the funeral was held from the home of his uncle, John Moon, at 10 o'clock this morning, conducted by Rev. L. A. Beeks. While at Union City, Undertaker Gable learned the particulars of the accident which lost the young man his life. Ot was in town Wed- nesday with a companion supposed to be Will Jones, also of Hartford City. In the afternoon Jones took a train west, and young Blair waited for the fast Knickerbocker express which passes that point be- tween 8 and 9 o'clock. He wanted to go to some station near Celina and when the train came in sight he prepared to climb aboard, not tak- ing into consideration the fast speed of the train. It is presumed that he made a lunge, and instead of grasping the iron guard, his arm became fastened. Both arms were broken and horribly mutilated. The back of his head was crushed and he had a bruise on the face. Other- wise the body showed no injuries. A few minutes after the accident a boy passing that way heard groans and came upon the unfortunate young man. He notified the auth- orities and the injured man was taken uptown. He never regained con- sciousness and died at 12:15.

! Blair, Ot Hartford City Telegram Dec. 13, 1896 P1-C3 Ot Blair, about 20 years of age, was killed in R.R. yards at Union City, Ind. He had made his home with his Uncle Allen Blair. Parents died when he was 2 years old. Stayed with uncle and grand- mother most of his life. Funeral at house of his Uncle John Moon.
