Notes

! According to notes John Gossett was born in Va. His place of residence was Scottown, Lawrence Co. Ohio. He was a Baptist minister and died in the Civil War in Sherman's march to the sea. His father was John Faucette who was born approx. in 1782 in Va. and notes say he changed his name first to Gossette then to Gossett.

! Another note says he was a Methodist Circuit Rider. After his death his wife Eliza Jane and her parents moved to Dubois County, Ind. approx. 1867.

! William Lafayette Gossett was a Methodist Circuit rider. Grandmother Hanson's notes say he came from a long line of ministers/per Carol Anne Childress. Incidently Carol Anne says she was raised in Southern Arkansas, so her line must have gone there.

! From Grandma Hanson's notes William Lafayette was born near Scott Town/Greasy Ridge, Lawrence County, Ohio.
