! Phillip D. Broyles Palmdale, Calif. - Phillip Donald Broyles, 69, Palmdale, Calif., died at 1 a.m. April 26 in Lancaster Community Hospital, Lancaster, Calif. Mr. Broyles was born in Grant County and graduated from Marion High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944, where he played in the Navy band. After his discharge, he studied at the Chicago Conservatory of Music. He wrote arrangements for popular and swing bands. After four years in Chicago, he went to Los Angeles, where he worked at Douglas Aircraft. Mr. Broyles returned to Marion in 1957. He and his father Guy, and brother, Paul, started a home construction business. Broyles Builders. They designed and built many homes in Marion. He moved to Phoenix in 1969 and started a bathroom and kitchen cabinet installation business. In the 1980's, he moved to Palmdale, Calif. where he continued the cabinet installation business with his son, Phillip. Survivors include (twins) a daughter, Rhea, Palmdale, Calif.; a son, Phillip, Canby, Ore.; and two grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Zion (Broyles) Cemetery, Delaware County. Halley-Olsen Funeral Chapel, Palmdale, Calif. was in charge of the cremation of the remains. Feb. 1, 1926 - Aprl 26, 1995 Obit. from the Marion Chronicle May 10, 1995 Burial was May 13, 1995.
