! MY SECOND GRANDCHILD WAS BORN IN BLUFFTON, IN. THE MOTHERS CHOICE. HE WEIGHED 9 LB. 8 OZ. AND WAS 20 INCHES LONG. HE WAS BORN AT 9:44 a.m. HE WAS NAMED DONAVAN BECAUSE THEY LIKED THE NAME. HIS MIDDLE NAME WAS CHOSEN FOR MY FATHER, AND ANDREA'S GRANDFATHER. HE ALSO HAS LONG DARK HAIR. HIS HEAD IS SORT OF CONICAL BECAUSE THEY HAD TO HELP THE BABY BE BORN WITH FORCEPS AND SUCTION. BUT I'M SURE HE WILL OUTGROW THIS.

! Dorothy was a very artistic and creative person. She came from a time period when you had to learn to do for yourself, because no one else was going to do it for you. She is my Mother, and I still find it very hard to write about her, without tears in my eyes. She taught me evertthing she could about life and living. We had it very hard sometimes, but she knew how to be a survivor, and passed that on to her children. I don't believe there was anything she couldn't do. If something needed fixed, or redone, painted, mended, whatever, she could do it. I can remember some very beautiful paintings she done when she was younger. I seen her make pillows, sew drapes and curtains. She painted floors, walls, redone old furniture. One year she got an award from the city, for having the most beautiful yard in town. She was a very beautiful person, on the outside, as well as on the inside.

! Dorothy was born in Hillsboro, Kentucky, and resided there until about 6 years old. She attended her first year of school in Kentucky, and then the family moved to Marion, Indiana. They moved back and forth a couple of times before becoming permanent residents of Indiana. When very young, Dorothy was struck by Spinal Meningitis. So terribly ill, she almost died, but she was a fighter. She came through it all and learned to crawl and walk all over again. When applying for her Social Security, she gave me a list of jobs she had over her working years. It starts when she was 16, she lied about her age said she was 19 at the time. This job was at the Modern Laundry making $20. a week. She worked at the RCA plant in Marion for about a year. She also worked at Foster Forbes for a short time, the Glove Factory and Daly Shoe Factory in Marion, for a short time at Newberry's 5 and 10 store behind the soda fountain, also, in Indianapolis she worked at the RCA Plant for a short period of time. She also worked at Central Coil for a short period of time, about 1951/2. She She retired from the Osborn Midwest Paper Company with a disability, after hurting her back in 1967. This was her last job.

! Dorothy was married 4 times, twice to her first husband. By her first husband Eldo Peer, she had the following children: Eldo and Dorothy were Div. in Arkansas, in 1947, the last time. ! Dau: Annie Ellen Peer B: 1 Apr 1942-Marion, Ind. D: Feb 1943-Marion, Ind. Buried: Grant Mem. Cem., Grant Co., Ind. Annie Ellen had Spinal Bifida. Dorothy traveled all over Ohio, Indiana and Illinois trying to find a cure for her baby, but there wasn't any. The baby died at 11 months old. Dau: Gloria Jean Peer (Jeannie) B: 31 Jul 1944-Marion, Ind. Marr: 29 Jun 1963 Husband: Forrest E. Drook B: 21 May 1937-Marion, Ind. They reside in Marion, Ind. Forrest is a foreman over the custodians of the Marion Community school system, and Gloria works at Gencorp. Automotive in Marion, Ind. Son: William Allen Drook B: 30 Apr 1964-Marion, Ind.
