Notes
! William Clark owned an 80 acre tract adjoining the 2nd Mt. Pleasant Cem.,
in Johnson County. After the death of William, the 80 acres went to Nancy
Tucker, his second wife. William and Nancy had no children, but William and
his former wife had a son John, who died before his father did, leaving 3
children. In Nancy Clark's will the 80 acres in Johnson County, a part of her
estate, was to go to the children of John Clark, his son.
!William Clark was born in 1841 and died November 6, 1913. He is remembered by
a large circle of friends as a man who stood high in the esteem of his fellow
men. He was known for his charity and benevolence and was known to be a man
who always stood ready to help those in distress. He was a kind husband and
a good citizen. By trade he was a miller and followed that occupation for
many years. His deeds of kindness are remembered by many of his less
fortunate neighbors.
