!Joseph Edwin Tucker, 6th child of Elijah H. and Hannah Laing Tucker was born
Oct. 16, 1833 in Butler County, Ohio and died Dec. 13, 1910 in Friday Harbor,
San Juan County, Washington. He was an officer in the Civil War, in Co. B, 69
O.V.I. He married Belle Seward of Madison, Indiana. She with her two
daughters are buried in the Tucker Cemetery at College Corner, Ohio.
!Joseph Edwin Tucker was an Attorney at Law and practiced at Liberty, Indiana
until he lost his wife and two daughters, when he became discouraged and moved
to Friday Harbor, Washington. He was the first Representative that San Juan
County sent to the Legislature when Washington became a state. Served one term
and later was the local Postmaster for four years.
